Get in Touch

This is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the agency that holds the record directly.

Where to Ask First

Use the contact that matches the record, and explain that the request concerns an existing document. The regional jail handles current custody questions; the sheriff or police agency may hold an arrest report; the Clerk handles court copies.

Choose the Right Record Route

  • For a booking photo or arrest report, start with Bertie-Martin, the sheriff, or the arresting police agency. The county records page has the request steps.
  • For a recent event or public announcement, check the sheriff's press releases and alerts. These are not a complete booking feed.
  • For a Windsor arrest report, use Windsor Public Safety and 252-794-3111. Aulander and Lewiston Woodville contacts should be verified because no current official records portal was found.
  • For a warrant question, call the sheriff and ask for warrants or records, or ask the Clerk about the court route. The wanted page is not a complete warrant database.
  • For a case result, use the eCourts Portal and ask the Clerk for an official copy.
  • For a state prisoner, use the NC DAC offender search. For federal prison use BOP; for immigration detention use ICE.
  • For custody notifications, review NC SAVAN. Its scope differs from a county jail roster.

Before Sending a Request

Include the full name, approximate booking or arrest date, arresting agency, booking or inmate number if known, case number if known, and the exact existing record requested. Ask for electronic copies and any permitted fee before work begins. Chapter 132 allows inspection and copying as promptly as possible, but the agency need not create a new report. It may redact protected material or explain that another custodian holds the record.

Phone numbers, policies, and hours can change. Confirm them before visiting a facility or mailing sensitive documents.
